ROSTER: 5:2 (This role is residential, not FIFO)

THE ROLE

As an IT System Administrator, you will oversee and maintain all aspects of a company’s computer infrastructure, servers, software, hardware and systems, including helpdesk assistance. This role reports directly to IT Lead and interacts with all employees including management and external parties as required.

  • Maintain essential IT operations, including servers, desktops, laptops, phones, and business-critical systems.
  • Supporting end users with IT hardware & software issues (helpdesk)
  • Take ownership of high-level support requests and see them through to completion.
  • Maintain servers and VMware suite. Including ESXi, Horizon view, workspace one, and VDI.
  • Managing AD, DHCP, DNS, GPO, Exchange, M365 and Microsoft related products
  • Govern and monitor Antivirus software to ensure endpoint devices are secure.
  • Oversee backup and storage issues.
  • Research, report and implement new and innovative technology.
  • Ensure systems are planned, tested and approved before implementation
  • Research and keep up to date with the latest products and developments and how these can be implemented into the current working environment (R&D)
  • Act as an escalation point of contact for other IT staff.
  • Other duties as assigned by the IT Team Lead.

 

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

  • 1-2 years’ work experience providing IT systems administration support within a business environment.
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Competency in providing support service for MS related technologies, e.g., Windows 10/11, M365, Windows server and SQL server and database administration.
  • Familiar with networking.
  • familiar with server cluster, SAN, VMware vSphere and Horizon.
  • Familiar with mining products.
  • Previous mining industry experience preferable.
