RESIDENTIAL LOCATION: Perth/Kalgoorlie

WORK SITE: Golden Cities

ROSTER: 8:6 – 12 hrs (Dayshift only) (Residential or FIFO from Perth)

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As a Drill and Blast Supervisor at Norton Gold Fields, you are responsible for overseeing all aspects of drilling operations, ensuring the safe and efficient completion of daily activities in alignment with relevant plans and objectives.

  • Lead and supervise drilling crews & blast crews, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant open pit drilling operations.
  • Communicate plans, objectives, and requirements clearly, providing documentation and technical guidance where needed.
  • Monitor drilling progress, address deviations from patterns, and coordinate maintenance to minimise downtime.
  • Maintain high safety standards through inspections, hazard control, statutory supervision, and training of drillers.
  • Liaise with Pit Supervisors on progress, ground conditions, equipment status, and operational issues impacting production.
  • Ensure housekeeping, operator compliance, and timely completion of allocated actions to meet company standards.

 

ABOUT YOU

  • At least 5 years of Open Pit drill and blast experience and 2 years of leadership experience (Essential).
  • Current WA Surface Shotfiring Licence & Dangerous Goods Security Card (Essential).
  • Must hold and maintain Statuory 26 Supervisor Qualification (Essential).
  • Current, unrestricted Western Australian Class “C” Driver’s Licence (Essential).
  • Experience with Epiroc Copco drilling fleet.
  • Good understanding of the following machines:
    • Epiroc T45, D45 and L7 Blast hole Drill rigs.
    • Epiroc D65 down-hole hammer.
