Excavator Operator

RESIDENTIAL LOCATION: Kalgoorlie

WORK SITE: Golden Cities

ROSTER: 7:7 Day & Night – 12hrs (Please note this role is Residential only)

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As a Digger Operator at Norton Gold Fields, you are responsible for the safe & efficient operation of an Excavator in a mining production environment and for operator other equipment such as but not limited to, Dozer, Grader, Water Cart and Dump Trucks as required to conduct production mining operations.

• Drive diggers such as Hitachi EX 1200, 2600 and 3600 machinery.
• Interpret, understand and apply survey instructions and dig plans.
• Accurately excavate ore and waste to the grade control geologist’s and surveyor’s markings and direct the trucks to deliver the material to the correct stockpile areas.
• Direct truck movement and manage the number of trucks needed for optimal productivity.
• Rapid response to operator requests to clear up spillage on haul roads and maintain clear loading faces.
• Complete daily take five and JSA risk assessment as required when performing tasks.
• Be able to complete machine challenge evaluations competently for all machines.
• Ensure minimal disruptions to the loading and haulage cycle.

ABOUT YOU

• At least 12 months of excavator experience and 3 years of mining experience (Essential).
• Current, unrestricted Western Australian Class “C” Driver’s Licence (Essential).
• Previous experience in an Open-Pit/Cut mining environment (Desirable).
• Basic knowledge of Mine Regulations, Act and HSE Regulations.
• Good understanding of the following machines:
  • Dump Trucks: Komatsu 1500, 785; CAT 777F , 789D , 775F, Water Carts (or other similar machinery in dimension)
  • Graders: CAT 16M , 18M Graders
  • Wheel loader: Komatsu WA900, CAT988 or 992. Prefer to have crusher experience.
  • Dozers: CAT D10T – D10T2 Dozers (Essential)
  • Excavators: Komatsu PC1250; Hitachi 2600 and 3600 (Essential)
