Norton Gold Fields is seeking a capable and people-focused HR Advisor to join our Human Resources team at Paddington Operations. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager or ER/IR Supervisor, this position plays a pivotal role in providing practical HR support and professional advice to operational leaders while ensuring compliance, engagement, and alignment with business goals.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As a key HR Advisor, you will:

  • Provide consistent and compliant HR advice to line managers across operational areas
  • Support performance management, investigations, disputes, and grievance handling
  • Assist with industrial relations matters, including enterprise bargaining and union engagement
  • Conduct site inductions and organise training activities with post-training evaluations
  • Help implement and maintain HRIS and other HR systems and processes
  • Partner with leaders on change management, employee wellness, and workforce culture initiatives
  • Assist with policy development and ensure best practice HR standards are maintained
  • Manage administrative tasks such as records, announcements, POs, and system updates
  • Support employee lifecycle matters, including onboarding, performance issues, and exit processes

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

WORK KNOWLEDGE

  • Working knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment legislation
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a generalist HR role
  • Prior experience in the mining or resources sector (or a similar industrial environment)
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, professional reports and investigation documentation
  • High level of efficiency, organisation, and time management

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

  • Ability to adapt communication style to all levels of the business
  • Strong influencing and persuasion skills
  • High emotional intelligence (EQ) and a professional interpersonal approach
  • Excellent customer service orientation with both internal and external stakeholders

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Proficient with HRIS systems
  • Confident with Microsoft Office Suite and data-driven tools
