Medical Emergency Services Officer

We are looking for Medical Emergency Services Officers (MESOs) to deliver frontline pre-hospital care and emergency response services across our operations! This role is critical in ensuring site emergency readiness, clinical governance, and compliance with site-based and corporate emergency management policies and procedures.

ROSTER: 8/6 (Residential or FIFO ex Perth)

KEY DUTIES AND TASKS

  • Plan, coordinate, and participate in site emergency drills.
  • To provide frontline pre-hospital care services and ensure medical facilities are maintained in an operationally ready status.
  • Maintain a level of fitness required to perform the job role as dictated by the company.
  • Structure and Coordinate Training programs for site personnel.
  • Participate in site emergency facility audits.
  • Provide AOD testing, where required.
  • To provide leadership and training services for the Emergency Response auxiliary group and other site departments in emergency management practices.
  • To provide service delivery in emergency preparedness planning, high-risk rescue plans and in-field interactions with workplace personnel.
  • To provide advice and conduct audits and inspections relating to emergency preparedness and bushfire readiness across the business.
  • To prepare and maintain emergency response equipment to operational standards ensuring effective responses to site emergency events.
  • To develop and review safe work instructions, guidelines, procedures, plans and policies relating to emergency practices and adhering to industry best practices.
  • Provide a visible safety leadership style of leading by example and positive safety behaviours.
  • Provide Injury Management information, guidance and service as required.
  • Occupy the position of On Call Response Manager within NGF’s emergency notification system.
  • Perform an on-call role in support of the on-shift ESO when on day shift.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and mutual aid partners.

 

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in a similar role, preferably within the mining or resources industry.
  • Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue.
  • Certificate II Medical Service First Response (minimum requirement)
  • Certificate IV Health Care or higher (desired)
  • Certificate IV TAE.
  • Drive vehicles under operational conditions.
  • Operate pumps.
  • BG4 and underground search and rescue competencies.
  • Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing (or other D&A testing certification).
