ABOUT THE ROLE
Norton Gold Fields is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Superintendent to lead the delivery of finance and accounting services across the business.
This role plays a key leadership function in supporting operations through accurate financial reporting, audit coordination, banking activities, and strategic financial advice. Working closely with senior leadership and operational teams, you will provide insights and recommendations to drive business performance, cost control, and investment decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage financial accounting services, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of reporting
- Oversee month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations and financial statements
- Manage external and internal audit processes, ensuring compliance with statutory and corporate requirements
- Support banking, treasury, and cash flow management activities
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support operational and strategic decision-making
- Partner with operational and senior leadership teams to improve cost control and financial performance
- Monitor budgets, forecasts, and variances, identifying risks and opportunities
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory obligations
- Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and reporting capability
- Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- CFA / CA qualification (essential)
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Extensive experience in financial accounting, reporting, and audit environments
- Strong knowledge of financial controls, compliance, and governance
- Experience in mining, resources, or heavy industry (highly regarded)
- Proven leadership experience managing finance teams
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and commercial acumen
- Experience working closely with senior stakeholders
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Pronto or similar)
COMMUNICATION & LEADERSHIP
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to influence and provide clear financial advice to senior leadership
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capability
